DBT Program 2022-03-16T11:55:03+00:00

What is Dialectical Behavior Therapy?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based program of therapy for teenagers experiencing strong up-and-down emotions, suicidal thinking, and self-harm. Often these teenagers have trouble benefiting from other therapy. A comprehensive DBT program is designed to provide an intensive outpatient therapy experience to support teenagers in stopping harmful behaviours and to develop their “life worth living.”

What does the Comprehensive DBT Program Involve?

  • Weekly individual therapy with a trained DBT therapist
  • Weekly multi-family group
  • Phone coaching
  • Weekly consultation team for therapists
  • Parent therapy and coaching is offered when needed and available

About our Program

The DBT program is 6 months to 1 year long, depending on how quickly your child responds to the program. Six months is the shortest possible time, many patients continue for one full year.

We are currently offering our DBT program for adolescents (12 to 18 years). We have a diverse team of therapists with a variety of backgrounds and clinical experiences. All therapists have official training from Behavioral Tech (Marsha Linehan’s certified training program) or supervision from a trained Psychologist.
